Not the metcraft tower I have. Some call mine a K tower because of the shape looking at it from the side.

We've been using it a lot (over 300 hrs in the last 2 years). I did have to replace the alternator (too much surfing) and fuel pressure regulator. Other than that just the normal maintenance items. The boat has a nice rampy wake and our surf wake is awesome. You'll want some ballast if you're an intermediate rider or better, but I can help figure that one out.

The boat is built like a tank.

If you don't mind sharing, what do you think about weighting down your boat? I have not had much time to fool around with mine and would not mind taking a short cut. The further and higher I can go the happier I am

Was there any known problems with this year, that I should check and make sure that they were done? Should I stay away from this year because any particular problems? I have read on another board that a few people have had v-drives problems, and another one had his replaced. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

            Thanks
Bought a 1999 2100V new. Traded it in in '06 for a 22Ve. Had around 275 hours at trade in time. Winterized every year. No engine or v-drive problems ever. Replaced the impeller a few times, and the serpentine belt once. Other than a couple of wear and tear items - no to low maintenance.

Most of the time when we went out this summer, it was just myself and 3 or 4 kids about 130 lbs. each. Even without the kids, we found the best weight combo was as follows:

1 350 tube sack in the ski locker on the passenger side
              1 350 in the cockpit
1 Fly High integrated bow sack (it holds 750, but I probably only get about 550 in there)
1 150 lb sack in the walkway.

The wake is clean, big and rampy @ 21Mph.

Remember, this boat likes 50/50 or even 60/40 weight distribution (front/back).

Usually between 5 & 6 when going 21 Mph. You just play with it until the wash goes behind the rider.

I took a look at the boat that originally made me start this thread. The interior needs some work (rips, stiching coming apart), but more I am more worried about the motor. Here are some pictures I took of the motor. Is this normal to have rust? Is this Throttle body Fuel Injection can anyone tell? What was the typical HP for this motor? Any input would be great. Thanks

Doesn't look too bad. I'd have a certified mechanic check it out.

My 1999 2100V Limited came with a 315HP 350 Magnum MPI MerCruiser Engine and V-Drive 1:1 Transmission. See picture of engine the month I sold it (2006).

Does this look like a MPI motor though? I looks like it has a fuel rail on each side of the intake. Whats under everyone elses plastic cover, since this one is missing the plastic? Oh yeah this is a 1999 2100V limited also. What does the limited say about the boat? It has taps, shower, and perfect pass. Everything else is pretty standard.
