    Ve 22

    Hello Everyone,

    I am currently considering purchase a Tige. I want a direct drive but my wife likes the the layout of the Ve. I am wondering if anyone out there has tried to do any slalom skiing in a course with the 22 Ve? How was the wake. Is it okay for an intermediate level skier in the course.

    Im not sure about the 22, i would imagine its not too great but I have heard the 20v is pretty good. If you are looking for slalom wake the DD would be the better choice.

      Zad, I must disagree with you here. With my many, many more years of experience, the one with the best slalom wake is the one the wife likes J/K buddy

      Sledhead, Get a pull behind the 22Ve and see for your self. Cant go wrong with a Tige, just find the one that fits your family's needs the best.

        You're not going to see a noticeable difference between the direct drive and V-Drive. It's not like a single-purpose ski boat, but it is pretty decent considering the weight of each of the boats. They both track pretty well. The V-Drive has a better cockpit layout, IMHO.

          Was behind an older MC direct drive last summer and my 24VE this year. Little noticeable difference with a regulation rope for me. I consider myself and intermediate skier although others may think different !

            Ask your Tige dealer to pull you behind both boats, they should do it! When I was test driving he RZ2 our dealer had another couple out behind a 22 Ve slalom skiing because they too liked the better layout and they wanted to get rid of their 20i. The dealer gave them a dry suit and pulled them around the lake back at the beginning of April when the water was still 45 degrees.

              I definitely agree that you should have your dealer give you a tow to find out for yourself. but..

              We just sold our '95 Tige 2002 fslm tournament ski boat that produced basically NO wake at slalom speeds. We now have an '07 22Ve and the wake is a lot bigger than our tournament towboat at slalom speeds but it is still GREAT for intermediate skiers. The reason it is still good despite being bigger is because it is super soft so when cutting through the wake it doesnt throw you, the ski kind of cuts through it. For an intermediate rider I think that when looking at it, it might seem big, but ride behind it and it's pretty nice!

                Good point on the "softness" of the wake.

                  Thanks dog. When we went on our test drive I was surprised at how much bigger the wake was behind the 22Ve vs. the 2002fslm. But then when I skied behind it I was even more surprised at how soft and easy it was to cut through. So that's why I try and tell people to get a tow before you judge it b/c looks can be decieving!

                      I found its actually not that bad of a wake but its seemd to be spread out, wider that is.

                          Soft=Good

                          I kinda like the 22 because it a good boarding wake and nice slalom wake but it seems wider that most ski boats, but that boat isn't a ski boat
