That drains down into the bilge with a tube. On my boat and I am sure a few others, that compartment is located just above all the computer stuff and would drip right onto the computer housing unit. The unit is covered to prevent any water exposure.

However, I have seen the drinks in that compartment on brochures but looking underneath to see if there is insulation, there isn't any on my boat on that compartment. Since I don't use it for a ice chest, I don't care but it is funny to say the least.

Is there insulation on any of the compartments?

Will never need to know if compartment #3 is insulated or not - the shower option, if ordered, is installed there. See photo.

Okay, pictures are in order now.... The middle one handles the port and center lids. I'll have to take the pic's tonight. Stay tuned.

Starboard locker under the activity center. Or, third door on the above picture. Not, it is black with no insulation.

Behind the engine. This is the second door of the activity center. Note that there is a white insulation layer glued on.

This picture is from the port locker looking at the door 1 and 2 of the activity center. Notice that the foam insulation stops and then there is nothing.

So, there is two compartments. The first compartment is door 1 (uninsulated) and door 2 (insulated). The second compartment is door 3 (uninsulated).

Q1: Why would anyone put ice or anything cold in compartment 1 when only half of the compartment is insulated????

                        A1: Tige??????

Okay, I still love my boat no matter what. I can glue some insulation onto compartment 2 under door 3 if I want to have another ice chest......

My guess is that the insulation is there for engine/exhaust heat and not to keep the "cooler" cold.

You are probably right. But, I thought Tige is suggesting that one of the "bins" is also a cooler????? Looked on Tige's website and they only say insulated coolers with drains. That sounds like more than one cooler that drains to me. Does anyone know the R factor in fiberglass?

Just saw the picture with the circle you did. That "tube" is also insulated and has a soft material over the top of it.

No question about the suggestion of a cooler

Actually, I have no clue what Tige was thinking... I give up.

It is funny that they insulated something only half way but whichever part of the activity center is considered the cooler.... Well, that one is debate-able.
