Yeah, but it never works that way. I make the appt. 3 weeks later I take my boat in, 3 hr drive. Then they tell me the gauge is broke, which I already knew. It will take a week or who knows how long to get the parts from Tige.

I am going to see if by opening both fuel fills, and going slowly, if it does indeed take the other 15 gals, so I get 47 in there. If it does, I will feel much better, and wait til the season is over, or use my local repair guy that has serviced my boats for years. I will have to find out if tige will do warranty work through him.

Ragboy, at this time, waiting until the end of the season is probably the best answer. I hate to say it but the shop we are familiar with seems to be very, very busy. I think they have received a lot of boats in for servicing. Keep us informed.

        Fuel gauge/sender testing

Pic 1: Clip votl meter to 1 and 2, turn key on and meter should read 12v's

Pic 2: Unplug pink sender wire from gauge (3/8 socket for nut), turn key on and gauge should read "E" (needle moves slow so give it a minute)

        Pic 3: Jump "sender" terminal on back of gauge to "GND" terminal on back of gauge, turn key on and gauge should read "F" (needle Moves slow so give it a minute) You can also check the resistance of the sender from here, but you need to know apx how much fuel is in the tank. With meter set to Ohm's, clip one lead to the "GND" terminal of the gauge and the other lead to the pink wire;
        FULL will be around 230ohm's
        EMPTY will be around 15ohm's

Results: If gauge does not react as per the tests, the gauge is faulty.
If the gauge works like it should, then the sender, sender ground wire, or sender signal wire is

Very nice. You are a gentleman and a scholar. I will first try putting more gas in the boat, then try to check the gauge in the next couple of days. I will post my results. Thanks for the help.

If I am right, that you just need to drop the other 15 gallons in, then I want to be called a scholar too, please.

LOL, I will see what I can do. I don't throw the term around lightly. I think you will have to have cool pictures of filling a boat, with layered overlays to compete.

              ;-)

Wonder if your gas tank has a dent in it or something (that would be a big dent) and it really only holds 35 gallons and that's why the fuel sender is showing 1/2 tank when full? (probably makes no sense at all)

Ragboy, don't forget about this one chpthril thought of. You really can not rule this out since the manufacturing of the boats is somewhat of an assembly line........ Not sure where they mark the boats to say which version the boats are when in manufacturing either......

Yeah, I know. I sure hope not, that would suck. Suck big time.

Actually, it looks like all the tige models have either a 30 or 47 gal tank.

Gas spitting out always happens to us. I dont think we have ever put more than 20 gal in our 36 gal tank.

We were at Bull shoals and my mom and I were walking around cleaning up the boat while my dad brought the trailer around. The engined idled rough and then die. We knew we were low on gas but werent worried about running out. So we floated and when my dad came around it started up and we got it on the trailer no problem. Next day we put like 25 gal in or something i dont remember, but we just assumed that my mom and i walking around made the gas move to the other side of the tank.

Yah, I think that for 07, all the 22 footers and 24 footers got the 47gal. In 06, the 22's got the 38

My 07 on her first voyage Saturday freakin geysered out at 25 gal, I'm sure the dealer did not put that much fuel in the tank. The gauge read just over E when I went to fill.

                              now I'm concerned
