    Space Between Swimstep and Transom

I have a 24V with a fiberglass swimstep. There's about a 3/4-inch gap between the back of the transom and the swimstep -- just enough for the ropes to slide through and down into the water. Not a big deal, but a little annoying.

Has anyone tried to fill this gap? I was going to head to Home Depot to look for something, but I wanted to check here first to see if anyone had any ideas.

    Thanks.

I dont think anyone has tried to fill it. You just have to watch your ropes. Its not that hard. Ive never managed to run over a rope....knock on wood

I saw awhile back, a thread about spray coming up through that gap, and someone put something under there to stop it.

I used to be proud to say the same thing

I never really coil the rope on the swimstep, it should be on the sundeck.

          Thanks for the replies.

Tall, I coil it on the deck, but sections of it regularly slip off down the back of the transom and into the water. Of course, it could just be that I'm lame.

My only concern would be to make sure that you don't seal the platform to the boat itself. It would make it rather hard to remove the platform when you need to garage it or do some work under the swim platform. After that, it sounds like a good idea and a chance to have a small kickplate for the transom which wakeboards decide to hit the boat in that area.
