Extreme Trailer Guide Posts

I have a 2006 22Ve that I treat like one of the family. On a steep launch ramp the POS square guide posts on the Extreme trailer scratched my graphics. Have purchased the round guide posts, but cannot find any soft covers. Extreme is clueless.... does anyone know where I can find a set of post covers?

I can not vouch for the quality but Overton's has been around for awhile. Here is what I found but you could call them also.

There is also a seller that has the Tige ones, don't see any right know, but someone said they were the same price as from tige anyway

I had problems with my guides eating up my boat also. Dorcey with floating PVC instead of "fixed" guides. We found two problems. First, the PVC did not float when submerged, the foam covers fixed that, and the opening between the guides was to narrow. Dorcey sent 2 new pre-bent poles. Launching and retrieving was like giving birth

Mine are carpeted, and are the square fixed type. I have had no problems with them. Your ramp is steep and/or you are in too deep. My guide posts usually hit the boat on the rubrail, not the graphics. Are yours quite tall like mine?

I just replaced mine with the padded PVC / round pole type for the very same reason. I bought the pads from Tige' ~ $20 for the pair if I remember correctly. I bought the steel guide poles from Home Depot and had them cut to length, added the capped PVC. Now when I launch from a steep ramp, they float and spin if you hit them with the rub rail. I'll post a few pics later.

Seems like you can remove the carpeted wood and slide a piece of PVC pipe over the remaining metal and then add a padded cover. I seems like a 1.5" dia pipe should slide over the remaining metal of the extreme trailer.

I think that Coach is right. Would the pads fit a 1.5 inch PVC pipe? The website does not say.

That's what I have and I bought them from the same place from your previous post. Except I don't have a cap, I just left a few inches of foam at the top. I also screwed my pipe to the trailer so that it wouldn't float, I may have to rethink that. Where did you get the pipe caps?

They may be a std 2" PVC end cap from SLowes.

I'm thinking about getting a couple of these soft end caps that Da.Bell posted, they come in colors

You want your pipe to float up as you go deeper into the water. I would take the screws out Moki. Also, you need the end caps from Lowes to help it float up. The end caps should always be above the rub rail if they float up, at least mine are.
