    2007 20V

From the austin area and just bought a 2007 20v. It is sick, out on the lake on Sunday and figured out on of the gauges didn't work...fuel gauge. Had to get towed on the 3rd day of ownership, wasn't cool. Just thought I would share my new Tige experience with my new fam. Much love

Glad to hear that you like your new boat! Welcome to the site and to the Tige family! I understand your frustrations with the fuel gauge.. We just took delivery of our '07 22Ve and our fuel gauge doesn't work either. Tige needs to figure this whole fuel gauge thing out! My fuel gauge never rose off of empty.. is this what yours did?
If you ain't falling.. you ain't trying hard enough..

Seems fuel gauges aren't Tigé's forte. My 03 20i's gauge always reads 1/2 full...even after filling at the gas station.

      Weird...

I totally agree. My gauge reads full most of the time but when there is 1/8th of a tank, then the gauge goes to empty SOOOOOO fast..... We just fill up every other outing and that seems to work for now.

Fuel gauge issues is not a new problem. If you want a lot of reading do a search. Or if you want the problem fixed, search for a fuel flow meter and install it, then you know what fuel you have burned and how much is remaining. I wish Tige' would figuere this out and at least offer a fuel flow meter as an option. Good luck with not running out of gas, with the factory guage a good guess is all you have, the gauge dosen't mean anything. Have fun and enjoy the boat.

Welcome to the world of boat fuel gauges. I have owned all types of boats for 30 years, and have never seen on work well yet so it is not just a Tige problem. Fill it up every time out, and it just adds ballast. Fuel flow meter is the only accurate way to go.

Fuel gauge stays on Full. I was bitter, but I sure do love the boat!!! Just marking it as a learning experience and moving on. I will fill up before every outting... Chunking the duece to all tige owners out there and hope you will enjoy the water and boat as much as me. Peace

That's everything you need to know about fuel gauges in a boat.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

I've mentioned it before, but I only had my boat 3 months before I added a fuel flow meter. It took about an hour to install the meter and gage. And it only cost $160 including the required extra fuel filter upstream of the meter. It has never been off more than .4 gallons when I've added over 25 gallons. For the cost, I don't understand why it isn't a standard feature. Instead of it being an irratation to owners, it could be a selling point or feature not done by anyone else.

It appears that Tige keeps providing gauges that do not work. Have they considered installing flow meters and replacing all the gauges on a recall basis?

Sounds like we need to make this a sticky now and a poll for us to vote on. Tige, we have problems! Listen to our words....

                        Any takers?????

I never trust the gas gauge in my boat even though it works pretty well. I know I use about 5-6 Gph, so I use the hour meter to keep track of things. I also start with a full tank every outing.

I already got a poll going.. for non-functional gas gauges on new '07s.. that could lead into another poll for fuel-flow meters which could lead to a recall which could lead to free fuel-flow meters! maybe not...
