    24Vé Swim Step

I just purchased a 24Vé from Capital Watersports in Rancho Cordova. I love the boat, was out all day on saturday. This is my 3rd boat, but first inboard. I have had a new 1995 Four Winns 190 Horizon, and a 1998 220 Horizon, and am now selling my 220.

Anyway, I live about 3 hours from the dealership, so spent a lot of time looking at images, and websites, and then drove down for final inspection and got the boat. In all of the images I saw on Tigé website and such, all the boats I saw had a large stainless steel handle on the rear of the boat, to aid climbing up the swim step. On the lake, I noticed mine does not. I hadn't noticed before. This doesn't seem like something that would be an option, does it? Why would some boats have the handle, and some don't? Don't get me wrong, I love the boat, but I have 6 kids, and would like the handle, so curious.

    Thanks,

I dont think it was an option on the 06 Ve's but is now an option for the 07's but you can add one for not alot of $$$, the transom is more than thick enough for a grab handle.

Congrats on the new boat and welcome to the site. You and your family will be happy you chose a Tige

Need pictures!!!!!!!! Welcome to the 24Ve..... there are a few people that like the boat here.... he he he

Capital Watersports is where I bought my boat from also. Exactly where you got yours. Who was your salesperson???? Did the dealership mention anything about a camping trip again this year????? I probably should get off my duff and call them....

Anyway, congrats on the boat and yes, we have 5 children also. The extra space was required and I know exactly where you are coming from....

Curious, looking on the website, and list of options, I don't see it listed, is it part of a package or something?

Thanks, I will post pictures. We go out at least once a week, many times 2x a week. Its a lot of wakeboarding with 6 kids. Gotta get out and buy a surfboard, they are excited to try surfing. I can't believe how big and beautiful that wave is at 11mph, and how easy to hold the speed with the cruise.

You will have many of long enjoyable times with it.

The dealership isn't offering a wakesurfboard anymore. They gave me one when I bought my boat.....

The handle is probably an option. You might be able to find one on the net or at one of the boat stores around the area....

I know the two Ve's that my dealer had at the show had handles and I thought I read it in the paper brochure but you are right, it is not listed on the web. Well, anyway, it's a cheap and easy mod.

Thanks for the help, was looking on the site, not my brochure. My sales person was Barry, and I was very happy with the dealership. I felt like they gave me a reasonable price, no haggling, and it was a quick deal.

Man, I can't tell you how much I love the boat, and I am no newbie to boats. Been around all my life. I just couldn't believe I didn't need ballast. I did all the research, and it seemed to good to be true. But I can say, the wake is great. And since I always have at least 8 people in the boat, I have my own ballast. But my 24Vé gets as good, or BETTER fuel economy then my 220 horizon, with 5.7 280HP and the dual prop. I go out often, since lake is just down the road, and to save so much on gas, not using a power wedge and ballast is awesome.

With 6 kids, 5 that board (one is too little) we board all day. We have signs for faster and slower, and now have signs for bigger and smaller on the TAPS, since it is such a quick on the fly adjustment.

I see all the guys, with their ballast tanks, dumping water after pulling off the lake, and I just smile to myself. But hey, I guess I am just preaching to the choir. Where's the malibu forum? ;-)

If you are going to add a transom handle, make sure that you get a transom handle with the tow attachment in the middle of the handle for pulling tubes. These normally only come on the "i" series boats.

Did you ad one of these or did you have the factory option handle

Barry wasn't my saleperson but he is the one that is there during the day. Kevin (the owner is very cool and seems to want you to make the decission to purchase and they don't want to cram the boat down your throat for a sale). Anyway, everyone there at the shop will help in anyway they can and do an excellent job. I am sure we might see you on Folsom Lake once in awhile.

p.s. Just make sure you don't tell the Bu fans what they are missing. They might want to purchase your boat but that could be a good thing if you are in the market for an RZ4......
