    New Tige 22Ve

I've looked at a lot of new boats over the last few weeks, but I'm leaning toward the Tige 22Ve. I need to know what the average price for one is around the country. I think the dealer is asking too much and I've seen several 2006 boats that are significantly less. What can one expect to pay for a loaded Tige with a trailer? I'm new to wake boarding so I probably won't add the ballast system.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Add the ballast system now. You will get better at wakeboarding and kick your self every time you get in your 50k boat without a ballast system....

All boats seem to have had a pretty good increase over the past year. For a loaded 22Ve w/trailer, you can expect to pay $60 +

            lamanfromtx,

If you provide a list of options it would probably be a little easier to help you on the price. There is probably a 5K range based upon the options. You can probably getter better prices and deals on some of the options if you handle them outside of the purchase.

As far as comparing '06 prices, are you talking new or used.

I have heard that prices are up significantly due to a sharp increase in gelcoat prices. Not sure if that is true or not but it does seem like boat prices have jumped this year.

As far as comparing '06 prices, are you talking new or used. An '06 at this time last year would have been in the mid-50's without going nuts on the options so any left over inventory should be marked down from there. I hadn't heard they were over $60, I thought that territory was reserved for the Rz2 and the 22ve was 7-10K less.

I checked around on prices last year and the Austin dealer was pretty much in line but could do a little better when pushed. I could have saved a couple of thousand with another dealer on a boat they had in stock but I couldn't stomach the color.

What options, tower, and trailer? 55-60k would be my guess and GET THE BALLAST, you will not regret it. Plus it is cheaper to install now than later. Wakeboarding is one thing, but you may get hooked on surfing like our family and will be ready for ballast after your first year.

I did some calling around on my 07 24VE and found the price I was getting in Austin was in line with other dealers. Given my positive experience with them in the past, both sales and service, it made the decision easier. Good service/dealer saves you $$ in the long run.

We just bought an 07 22ve' in the Charlotte, NC area. We decided on the factory balast and 340hp with most other options - E tower and not the Z tower and no tower speakers. We did not get a trailer. After tax we are at about $45k. I would think a new trailer would be in the $5k range.

As for the ballast.... Instead of getting the ballast.... Just pay to have them plumb for it if your ordering. Then you don't have your ballast sacks or tanks taking up room or getting tore up while your not even using them. Then if you ever need them, just add it in when your ready! It's a slightly cheaper option and leaves you the room to expand in the future.

Are you sure that includes the engine? Heck my taxes last year were north of $3K that would make it $42K, I am impressed with your negotiating skills. And I thought prices were up this year.

No kidding, I think $45K OTD gets you a 20V out here.

Isn't negotiating and buying a boat, kind of an oxymoron? I remember stopping in the Ozarks last summer and none of the dealers (Tige, Nautique, Mastercraft, Malibu, etc) had a wakeboarding boat in stock to sell me, let alone let me negotiate - would have had to order one from the factory, and they were all sounding pretty firm on those prices. That's an unbelievable price on a new order - I second the group buy
