    cockpit table

Does anyone have a cockpit table that they can measure the upright for??? I found one pretty cheap at a marine surplus store but it is 26 inches tall and I am thinking it might be too tall. Then again, it would be more usable from the sunpad so it might work out for the better.

Mine was about that tall so I just cut it down so the table is about level with the top of the seatback.

That was what I figured I'd do with this one, but the post is stainless so it will take some work to get through, so I might just leave it tall. An aluminum post would be much easier to cut through.

I used a metal cut-off blade in my 10" mitre saw, took about 30 seconds to cut it.

Hay we went with the Detmar table and love it.
The only thing I changed, was the base. I paid extra to get the flush mount base.
Have it in a 20v and works great for snack and drinks.
Todd makes a nice one as well (http://www.toddusa.com/oemtablepedestal.aspx) but they only have chrome bases, detmar comes in black ( goes better with my carpet)
With extra base cost was around 70. at overtones

how sturdy are they? In other words, can some drunk 250lb guy step on the table while I'm tied up to other boats?

The leg is fat and short so maybe it could, but I would definitely have it put away in that situation.

I think the table would, but what it's mounted to in the boat could be a problem. That would put an awful lot of torque on the fiberglass cover for the V-Drive.

Plus the table would be very slippery when wet, so the real question would be could it handle a drunk 250lb guy stepping and slipping to one side.

I think anything over 30lbs is to high.

But i would get the table. we love our table, & use it all the time.
