Quit your crying n fix your boat

I see alot of people complaining about there boats, and it makes me laugh
I have owned 4 boats 2-Tige' a Mastercrap and a SeaRay and all my buddies have boats and we all agree the Tige' is the best out there. If you have a tige that has had a few prob's thank the lord it wasn't another brand cause your list would be twice as long as that. It appears some of you may be first time boat owners and what you have to learn is all boats break it's up to you to fix them, that's the joys of owning a boat. Break Out Another Thousand... Thats what boat really means.. Mine works see ya on Lake Travis.....

GUILTY~We are more inexperienced boat owners than inexperienced boaters. We didnt really know what the maintenance on a boat was like, because we never owned one.

I started the "what have you replaced on your tige" thread so I could get a good idea of what other people have had to replace.

Austin21, I see you joined in last year but just started to post. Welcom to TigeOwners.com.

We are on our 3rd boat, but first new one, and have had some new boat issues, but nothing that kept us off the lake. We bought from a horrible dealer that addressed nothing for us I have delt with Tige directly (Randy and Harvey) on a couple of things and I'm still happy we went w/ Tige.

I agree, any boat can have things "break", heck, I've see new cars not make it off the hauler Like Forest Gump said "Sh!t Happens"

Mine hasn't left me on the water yet. The bilge pump is still faster than the prop shaft seal. Only 3 more months and it's lake time!

Exactly, take like a grain of salt. **** happens everytime you hit the water, I enjoy it too.. and 3 months I'm thinking as soon as this cold spell leaves that heater on the boat is finally going to get some use...

Its very interesting to see comments from boat owners. First boat purchased was a Sea Ray and had it for 10 years. only time it went into the shop was to get the impellar and outdrive oil changed, when I remembered. No craks in gel coat, no torn upholstery, bilge pump always worked, no engine problems, nothing. I just changed oil. Second boat was a Sea Ray also. Had the boat for 20 years. 15 years before the vinyl started to crack and was replaced, and it was wet and stepped on all the time. The boat still had the original belts and one had to look for any belt cracks, original power steering unit, original starter, no stress cracks in gel coat, changed impellar about once every three years and it still had the original water pump. No leaks of any type. Maintenace was at a minimum, just replaced oil and filter and greased the bearings. They never left me stranded, or would not start. I hope the tige performs as well as the two Sea Rays I had that saw many hrs water skiing and minimum repairs. I sure hope that the quality is there and that I did not purchase one to spend a grand everytime something goes wrong. Based on previous 30 years of experience, That would not be very joyful.

My Tige' has done much better than my last boat which was a I/O. The main problems were with the Mercruiser engine & not the boat but the problems were many. So many so that after 3 year I only had 60 hours on it. I live on the water. My Tige' after 3 years has over 250 hours on it and the only time that the boat is running is when we are boarding, skiing or tubing. No idleing time. The only maintenance that has been done is the routine stuff to keep it in top shape.

I had a Sea Ray 185 that never gave me any problems but it had a vovlo/penta in it. The Mastercraft or mastercrap was brand new in 95 and I had more issues with that boat than any other. The engine would stop for no reason and you would either have to wait or start fiddling pouring gas into the intake and she'd finally start up. The mc dealer put numerous fuel pumps,filters,hoses,ect.. had to replace the alt. twice and starter onceand a constant mysterious drain on the battery claimed a dozen batteries. Then after 3 years of use I could feel the mc actually flexing in rough water it was like the boat was weekining. Thats when I read up on Tige and bought a used one a 1997 fslm2002 and it was a great boat. It had normal stuff go wrong like a starter and a battery or two but she never left me stranded. I bought that boat with 160 hrs on it and we used it on the SWT ski team for two season's instead of our team mc and put almost 500hrs on it. I sold it 2 years ago with 800hrs on it and it still purred like a kitten. I now have a 2000 21V and the boat is great no major issues the biggest ordeal I have had was finding metal hydro. shocks for the rear lids. People tend to drink to much and turn into the Hulk when reaching for a beer, breaking my shocks lose from the lid. After a season I figured it out and got the right ones haha no more problem... I've got 400hrs on my 21V now and other than maint. I have been pretty lucky (impellar, battery, stereo system, oil changes)
All I know is from my expierence Tige is the way to go.......

I'm with you, I had great luck with the 00 2300V and on the 05 24V so far I only had to replace the back up lights on the trailer.

But if I do have problems, I'm with Vader, I enjoy working, cleaning, and maintaining my baby. Hell, I wiped down the entire underside of the trailer just to understand how torsion axles worked.

Even the "non-Tige" componants such as Clarion, Kicker, WakeDesign, etc.
