I have a 2004 22V and my steering is very tight under throttle. I have a new steering cable and it turns very smooth at idle which makes me think my rudder needs rebuilt. Are there any tricks to this, or advice before I tear into it?

I did grease it when I changed the cable. There is a small amount of play in it when I pull the rudder back and forth, would this cause it to become tight when there s pressure on it under throttle?Comment

Yes, yes it will. Was the shaft worn? You may be better off replacing the whole rudder assembly.Oh Yeah!Comment
