My boat is at dealership for v drive repairs. I was told I need a new v drive, $5250 plus labor. Instead of a new one, if my housing is still good, can they be rebuilt for less than price of a new one?

Whats actually wrong with it? V-drives are as basic as a 4wd transfer case. Not much to go wrong that not catastrophic. But, can be rebuilt as long as the case is not toast. Cheaper?
