    Bent strut

    Hey Guys,
I'm assuming the strut should be straight, mine is very not (See photo)
Prop turns but difficult with 2 hands.

Assuming this is no factory cast with a bend, can I have it straightened or should I replace it? This would definitely cause my steering issue I believe!
Man this boat has been beat on it's beginning to get ridiculous haha. Luckily I like a project. I should know all there is to know by the time I get this thing back to 100%.

    Cost on replacement?

      I figured as much.
It's frustrating the lack of manuals and parts availability on these boats.
Anyone know a part number? I feel like I've annoyed the tige guys enough already but I suppose it's their lack of support and documentation that causes it.

Not sure if its just the picture but your prop looks like it has a ding in it, check your rudder too. that could also be causing some problems. Try going through a different dealer or tige directly.

Haven't tried the dealer yet, in my experience they all do their very best to screw you over. This is my first endeavor with boats and it's very annoying not being able to get the parts online and have a parts fiche etc.

Prop also needs repair but the bent strut is a much bigger concern at the moment.

Marinehardware.com will square you away. I replaced mine about 8 yrs ago when I bought it. Nice to have an extra set of hands once you start wrenching things tight.

Got the quote back from marine hardware for 500 bucks.
Is this normal? Every replacement strut I've seen for MasterCraft, nautique etc are 250ish

The price is usually more from marine hardware. especially if you aren't a dealer. I can buy a rudder from Tige cheaper than from marine hardware. Assume bulk buying power is the answer. you can probably find it cheaper elsewhere if they gave you the P/N for you strut.

Called a bunch of places and the best I found was 429 so I just bit the bullet. No other choice I suppose.
