I have 12 hours on my 2016 Z1 and I love the boat. I am having some weird things happen though, not sure if it is just set up/learning curve issues or what. To save me some time I figured I would through this out to the group to see if anyone had been through this or if its me...lol. Surf/Wake XL ballast full, drain/fill a bit depending on crew.
Speed set, say 3 out of 10 times on surf left the boat will not "get up on step"...or thats how it feels. If the speed set is on 11.2 it will only get up to 10.6 maybe 10.8. You can tell its struggling, it sounds a bit different too when its doing this. I did figure out that if I switch it back to surf right then back to left it takes off and sounds/acts normally. Actuator issue? I noticed my surflink button was sticking a bit, that could perhaps be the problem if it was stuck down. Next time I take it out I will leave the surf link in the truck and see if that's it. Thoughts?
Taps 3 set up, surf right - no problem. Beauty goofy wave, taps 2 at 3, taps 3 at 6. Absolutely awesome wave. Surf left, cant get dialed in, well sometimes I can. Taps 2 at 2-4, Taps 3 at 1 - 3. Sometimes its nice and clean and big, sometimes same setup is washy and mushy. Same lake, same depth, same crew...same everything...night and day wave difference. As mentioned, 5 people in the boat, ballasts full just drain a bit to clean up. Its the damdest thing.
When I demoed the boat last fall we had only 2 of us in the boat, surf right no issue, surf left we had set taps 2 at 4 to 6 and taps 3 at 6. It was good. Now if I use those settings the wave is terrible, I have to take the taps 3 right up to 1 to 3.
Now I dont know if these 2 items may be connected (actuator perhaps?), I thought I would ask and see if anyone had experienced this.
The dealer has been great with help, problem is I am 4 hours away and dont want to be running back there for every little thing.
Any help would be appreciated.
