    WOT on 24ve or 24v

I have been talking to Acme about a backup prop and the question of WOT (wide open Throttle) on my Acme #537 keeps coming up.

Since my boat is now 260 miles away from me, I was wondering if any of you had any info on your boats.

I have 24ve with 340hp MP and an Acme #537.

    Thanks for the help.

Zany...what are you wondering about? What speed the boat will do at WOT or what the RPM should be at WOT? We have exactly the same set up. I bought a back up as well...but since have been thinking about the big three blade that was detailed in an earlier post..

In my outboard days we always looked for 200 to 300 revs under the redline at WOT... I will have to look at the mmanual or perhaps Lee or one of the technical experts can give us some guidance...

I actually did that last weekend on my 05 24V. Just went through my bag at work and cannot find where I wrote it down. Hopefully it is in the boat bag at home. If not it is 272 miles away
            Let it be!!!

The boys at Tige Watersports say the boat WOT should be 4700 to 4800 with the rev limiter set at 5100.

              Can anyone confirm this?

I have the 330 hp Black Scorpion engine and its WOT is 5200 rpm. The WOT should vary from engine to engine. Do you have the MX 6.2 Black Scorpion? If yes, according to this PDF, your full throttle is 4800 - 5200.

Zany...gave it a try and I would say that WOT on our 24Ve was between 4800 and 4900 with four people in the boat. Early morning at Havi heading for the south end... We will be back out this week and will try it again and let you know if anything different...wrangler

On a 6.0 the rev limiter is called "vapor lock" usually at 4,000 RPM.

They have a cure for that now.
