Had some good movement on the project today.
Balancer pressed on, water pump, thermostat, starter motor, fuel injectors and rail all installed. I had the injectors sent out to be rebuilt and flow tested, so better then new because I know they work, and flow right.

I am having problems with me freeze plugs, I thinking they may be the wrong set. :\

Today I installed the distributor, wire harness, upper intake, fuel lines, plugs and wires.
That was enough to get it fired up!!

I still need to set the timing, but for a first try it was close enough to run and idle.

Amazing work; great home story; heck of a maintenance shop; and, missed the results of race cam during sea trial.

Quick update, it's not done yet.
I missed ordering a gasket for the manifold, so I got that yesterday, and installed it today.
Then I set everything up to run it to set the timing, battery, fuel source, fresh water pump connected to the garden hose and wouldn't you know it, the fuel pump failed
              Now to track one down.

Fingers crossed for installing into the boat this weekend

I still need to set the timing, it's a little difficult to do your self, especially because I don't have an actual run stand, so I have a buddy coming over this weekend to assist with that.

Next I need to install the bell housing, trans, and v-drive. During that process we will get all the oils changed.

[emoji1316][emoji1316]Awsome! Great work. You definitely made it worth dropping a bolt. Report back when you get in the water. I am curious of the performance improvements.

                      Small update,

I started to set things up to do the timing and I lost spark!!
So back to the manual and start the trouble shooting process. Went through the flow charts and everything testable checked good so I was at a loss for a bit. I decided to replace the HEI module even though I was getting good readings out of what you can test, and glad I did, bingo spark is back. Nice thing about the part is its stock GM equipment so to autozone I went.
Hoping to get the timing done tonight, and if all goes well, back into the boat this weekend!!

Glad that did it, otherwise I would have suggested checking the intake for a random bolt.

                          Experience tells me,
                          Random falling bolts suck!!

Sound mean. Looking forward to seeing the install

                              The install will be soon!
I took it off the motor stand and installed the bell housing, trans and cooler and motor mounts. I also preped the boat, changing the through hull seal (super easy with the motor out), cleaned out most all the crud that accumulates back there and made sure the ruder and linkage were good - and it was a good thing I did, someone replaced the stainless lock nut on the ruder arm with something else that had rusted to just about nothing so a new stainless has been refit.
Hoping my neighbor with the tractor is available tomorrow so we can drop it in!

If I might make a suggestion, replace the worm gears on the exhaust from the centeks to the hose to T-Clamps. Much more even pressure on the already fragile fiberglass exhaust.
