I'm looking to get a 2011 ve, but I will have to put in a new engine. Are there specific engines that will bolt in or engines to stay away from. I see the new tige have the raptor series, are these the same for the 2011. I'm more familiar with outboard engines not and inboards so I'd figured I ask. Thanks for any help.

No, your 2011 has a GM based 5.7 marine engine where as the Raptor is a ford block. Yes, you need a specific GM Marine (not car) 5.7 long block of that same generation. I would not hesitate to go with a reman marine long block from one of the handful of reputable national rebuilders. No need to go new/complete.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

That good to know. Gm series long block. I will look that up. The boat would be under 10k, they overheated the engine and possibly broke the engine. I know I haven't worked specifically on inboards, my cousin has worked as mechanic marina die 20 years so hoping we can figure it out with the two of us. I picked up wakeboarding last year so inhave been looking for a more appropiate boat for the fun.
