Another taps question

2007 tige 20v, 1100 hours on it
Taps shows 8, wake plate at 1, flick it up and you can hear motor go up. Flick it down, sometimes motor goes down, other times it'll go for one second then stop? Wake plate does not move. Any ideas? Fluid is half, and it is a Bennett system

Mine sized up the other day. Position at 1, gauge at 8.. you could hear the electric switch click but wouldn't move. Switched off boat, flipped breakers off and on, turned boat on and taps worked again..

Side note I have a 2015 R20

There is a 4 pin connector for the wiring right at the TAPS pump, I've found unplugging it & plugging back in will clean the contacts & allow it to work again. I haven't had any issue since doing this.

I would bet that the wires in the handle or behind it for the switch are shorting out. I had almost the exact same symptoms on mine and that was the cause. At some point they shorted out in the run position and fried the pump motor.
