Hello all, we're out with our boat today combination of tubing and swimming with a boat anchored, on our way into the marina to eat dinner the boat acted like it ran out of gas sputtered a few times and then just shut down. got a tow to the Marina filled up the fuel tank, but it didn't take as much fuel as it could have if it was empty. Started the boat and let it run for a little while and everything seemed perfectly fine, took it back out out ran for about 15 to 20 minutes and then all of sudden had no power and was back to sputtering and felt like a really bad miss. Limped it back to the marina but now I'm trying to figure out what's wrong, maybe fuel filter? if it was in limp mode it wouldn't be missing would it?

I know you said you were tubing and swimming but any chance you Were you surfing regular side on that tank weighted heavy with your custom sacs? It could even be a previous day.
I suspected I was taking water in the fuel vent so I moved it forward and haven't had any trouble since. I then added a second bilge pump and used the hole for that.
I can't be sure that was my problem but since moving the vent I put another 50 -60 hrs without issue.

We weren't surfing today, but we have surfed the boat a lot in the last few weeks. I was wondering the same thing, if water was maybe getting in the vent, plus we've had tons of rain storms here. the first time the boat just died after sputtering a couple of times, the second time it acted up it kept running, so I'm wondering if the extra fuel I put in it deluded the water enough to make it keep running?
