    2006 Tige 24Ve with 118 Hours

    Hey all,

Been a few years with my current boat (not a tige) but most of my boating friends have Tige's. I recently found a 2006 Tige 24Ve with 118 hours on it. Seriously considering the purchase, I know there are a lot of owners of this boat on here anything I need to look for specifically when I got look at it. The dealer is asking 45K and it has NO ballast installed. I am not sure if its a consignment boat or not, but it seems like the price is a little high for what I have seen around.

This seems high to me particularly if it does not have many options (ballast, big stereo, etc.). Low hours is not necessarily a selling point because boats don't like to sit unused for long periods of time. With 118 hours it averages 13 hours a year. I put 13 hours on in a week sometimes. I love my 24V and I do not know of anyone on the forum that has one that does not love it.

      Good luck!

I paid $37K also for a 2006 with 128 hrs last October. With a decent stereo, and factory ballast. No flaws cosmetically.

With the low hours, you will likely want to clean/replace some of the fuel delivery system components--lines, filters stuff like that. Other than that, mine has given me no problems. Runs great, looks new inside and out.

Factory ballast is not a plus in that year IMHO, the only thing I have retained is the wiring. Otherwise the ballast now is fully customized--ran me about $2500 (self install).

I also updated the cruise control--the SpeedSet for that year works fine, but doesn't offer super precise control. I spent $1500 going to an amazing GPS cruise. Full writeup is on this forum. Best upgrade ever.

Other than that, the boat is a beast. Great size, great look, well built and handles chop very well. A very solid boat.

I bought my 06 about 3 years ago and paid 36K. I think they are asking alot. My boat had 145 hours at the time. no ballast and was in really excellent condition. I think you will love the boat. Good luck

We bought our '07 with 88 hours two weeks ago for 37K, mint shape with factory ballast, no sub or amp but it does have the samson tower, DHM trailer and a Rankin cover.

There is an '06 up here in BC Canada with 80 hours and all the bells and whistles (no ballast) and they are asking $50 CAD ($40, 000 USD).

They are high and it is prime buying season so I guess they are throwing it out there to see what might happen. Given the time of year, I understand why they are priced where they are.

thanks for all the help guys, I found an 06 Ve' with 200 hours no ballast, basic stereo with the Samson tower. 40K is asking but still seems high, but is in great condition overall. Dakota4ac, you have been mentioned a few times about your speedset fix, we may need to get together if there are any issues with this one, I am kind of liking the no ballast idea as well, kind of a clean slate to work with, and I will be getting with chpthril soon to make my large purchase I am sure. thanks again I will keep everyone up to date and post pictures if all works out.
