    Prop shaft seal replacement

I'm taking on water in the bilge, it's more pronounced when we're loaded down surfing. Ive seen water being thrown around from behind the gear box, I assume the seal packing is at fault.
My question is what sort of estimates should I expect?
I really don't want to be taken advantage of at a dealership, especially at a dealership who has limited experience with fixing Tige inboards.

If you've seen water coming in around it then I'm sure it's possibly that. I just noticed this last weekend after my boat wouldn't plane that I had take on a lot of water. I'm not sure on the 10 RZ2 but on the back step I have the 3 bins. The one has a hole that drop water in to the back of the boat. Well, it was letting a lot of water in. I have to double check if my bilge is an auto (because it isn't currently operating auto) and find a rubber stopper of sorts to plug the hole. After a day on the water I can then let the water drain in to the bilge and out the back of the boat once on the trailer.

My 07 22ve had an extra hole drilled for the screws that hold the raw water strainer inlet on that wasn't sealed at the factory or somewhere on the lines and would.let water in at a fast rate. It also would leak around the front eye tow strap on the bow and would let lots of water in the bilge area. Sounds like your issue is more isolated to the rear of the boat but might check these items. I spent several outings trying to figure out why I had so much water in the bilge and also assumed it were the PSS. Luckily I had my fake a lake hooked up and notice a stream of water coming in from near the strainer and sealed the hole, and that stopped most or all water from coming into bilge.

Another thing i like to do is drop the plug on a good incline so the front bilge drains completely and perhaps you are seeing water from previous outings? Just some things to check before throwing money at it!

Our 12 RZ2 dis the exact same thing. Tige replaced the seals free of charge. Our boat didn't have the 360 warranty. They might replace yours for free as it was a common issue in some of their boats. Haven't had ours on the water since the seal repair so not sure how well it works. Got it done when boat was winterized.

Just got mine fixed yesterday on 13 z3. Only had to drop the boat off for a couple of hours and they charged me $55. Said that some boats have a recall it can be fixed under, some don't. Just depends on what product/style of seal was used and if Tige covers that style under a recall or not. At least that's how they explained it. Was glad it turned out to be a small ordeal, I was a bit stressed when I saw how much and where the water was coming in from.

I finally got mine out of the shop. Guess Tige doesn't keep the prop shaft seal kit in stock so the dealer had to order it from the manufacture.
            $450 parts
            $150 labor

Had to get a new master cylinder for the trailer brakes and have them bled so another $350 there, they work awesome now!
BOAT literally means "break out another thousand!" lol..
