Reading engine hours 2001 2100V Limited

Hello,

I have a 2001 2100V that I'm considering selling. However, this boat does not have an hour meter on the instrument panel. The fairia depth gauge and perfect pass do not show accurate hours. Just curious if the 2001 Mercruiser 350 MPI engines had a port to hook up a computer? I'm wondering if I can have a shop run diagnostics and give me a printout of engine hours that I can use when I sell. Any thoughts of figuring out engine hours would be greatly appreciated!

Yes the Merc 350 Mag MPI can be hooked to a computer to give accurate hours on motor, depending on the software will tell you hours between specific RPM's so for instance how many hours the boat has idled, ran at 2000 RPM ect. It should also give compression rates if I am not mistaken.

my 01 20i had an hour meter in the side of the glove box and maybe yours does also?

I have the same boat.. As Thegerman618 said they can be read... I get mine pulled whenever it goes in for service... last I checked min was 430ish... The gauge I have on the boat is inaccurate as well.... How come you're selling? I love mine... One of the best kept secrets of Tiges I feel like! HAHA

I had to take my ECM into them and they did it for me with their software.

Excellent, thanks guys! I'm glad to hear that the hours can be read via computer. I don't have an hour gauge in the glovebox...not sure why my boat didn't come with one. I'm considering selling and getting something a little newer, but I haven't decided for sure yet.
