Is anyone using a late model rzr on a shallow lake. The lake we ride at is only 4 to 5 feet deep in most spots and I am curious how the wakeboard wake will be when we switch from our 2004 22I to a new rzr. The lake is closed October to April so lake test is a out of the question at this specific lake.

At that depth it is going to affect the wake considerably. We have a shallow shoreline we ride thats in that 5-7 foot range for a long stretch. The wake was much smaller in that stretch. I'd say it cuts in half compared to deep water. The wake still has nice shape and is firm, but is much smaller. I wouldn't expect to be able to build any more wake than you could with your 22I, you just don't have the depth. The RZR can build a nice wakeboard wake but not in 4-5 feet of water. No boat will.

We usually run on a river that varies from 4' - 10'. You really have to find the channel running through it to have a decent shot at producing a good wake. Here are a few tips:
1) Run more weight than you regularly would, we add about 600 - 1000 lbs in the front. Lead is preferable over another bag on the front seats. You'll want almost a 70/30 split front/rear.
2) TAPS is going to need to be around 3 - 4
3) You might need to slow down and adjust the rope length to get the right shape of the wake. For example, if you normally ride at 85' at 23, trying slowing down to 22.6 and shortening the rope to 70'. The key is to hit the wake about 1' in front of the spot on the wake that is breaking over.
It's not the greatest wake, but it worked really well on our 22Ve.
