    24V vs 24VE

I am soon to be "in the Tige family of baot owners", but I need some help. I have demoed a 20V and 22VE. I loved the wake and the way the 22VE handled. I still need a little more room as a result of 8 to 10 adult size persons in boat on many future occasions. As a result I am looking at buying either the 24V or a 24VE. I have found a new 24V but am having a hard time locating a 24VE. Inventories are low right now.

I would like to know some of you guys personal experience with the 24V and how it may compare to the new 24 VE model.

    Thanks,
    John

We did lot of research and ended up going with the 24Ve for many reasons...but a few of the more important ones included:

    1. More room in the cockpit with the 24Ve. You get about a foot more inside the boat which makes it feel more spacious.

    2. The seat on the back for the riders to put their boards on and store ropes and soap etc... That has already paid off in convenience and making it easy for the kids to ready up to ride.

    3. The lip on the back of the boat where the seat is will help push back any wave that happens to come up the swim step looking for a clean path into your boat...

Overall we are completely happy with very little to complain about. I think you will find that the Ve is a little more comfortable and the wake rocks...

Good luck and if you search the threads for our comparison you will see the things that really made the sale between a Tige and Malibu for us... Pictures are also up in the Gallery...

      Hi Wrangler!

The Ve's lip does stop water from coming in over the transom.

The two spaces on the rear with three hatches are cool for ropes, tools and even ice!

I have the 22ve and I would agree the bench/storage at the rear is awesome! Every rider I have had in the boat so far has commented how nice that bench is to sit and put your board on with the compartment to keep your lube real handy. I have also found that the compartments work really nice as an ice chest when you have a boat load to keep others drinks in. And then no one is moving to constanately get to the ice chest!

I have a 05 24V. The boat was everthing I was looking for last year. I actually like the slanted transom and water coming over the back is not an issue. Must be lucky! My riders put on their boards sitting on the swim step which is not a problem with us

I also have been in a 24 VE and really like the split front seats, the way the rear seats are done. Much more comfortable the way the changed the 24 VE in the rear corners. I like the look of the VE and the compartments are functional. I believe the transom storage on the V has more room.

Both boats will hold 10 people in comfort.

I got a killer deal on my 24V last year.

If I had to make a choice today it would be very tough.

You cant really go wrong with either boat.

          Good Luck,
          Let it be!!!

Thanks for the 24V VS 24Ve info. What did you mean by split seat up front ?

both the 24v & ve have the reclining front seats. each seat on the 24v is whole. they are heavy, and kind of difficult to hold up to put anything in the storage under them. on the ve, the split them in half and put a shock on them to make it a whole lot easier to open and store stuff in them.

I have an '05 24V, and the front seats are hard to lift/hold up. I never access those compartments from the front. One nice feature on the V that for some reason they did not put in the Ve is the hatch/door at the walkthrough for the starbord compartment. This gives you very easy access to that compartment without dealing with the front seats.

I agree the cockpit feels (and is) bigger in the Ve, but the tradeoff seems to be less transom storage.

I also have not had any problems with water over the transom, but now that I have said that . . .

Overall, they made some great changes to the Ve, and if I was buying today, I'm not sure what I'd do. That said, I love my 24V, and I'm sure you'll be happy with either. Good luck and happy shopping.

The 24v has the split seats with a shock on them. If you bought an early 2006 you might not have the new seats.

Wake Havasu is right...the lip does help keep water from coming over the transom...and the storage compartments in the back have proven to be very useful. We kept ropes and soap, sunglasses while riding...all manner of things over the course of the week. I thought they would be useful...but like Wake Havasu have found that they are great. We even put some ice in the larger one and kept drinks in there one day. Probably not the best use of that space...but it was handy!

Good luck and let us know how you come out....

I agree with xpjim1. I Have the 05 24V. No water comming over the transom and I was in some serious swells, the transom storage on the 24v is larger. everyone puts on their skis, wakeboards on the platform. The hatch door is an advantage which for some reason the ve does not have. It is really a nice feature for conveniet storage and easy to access. Also if you have elderly folks with you or small children the step behind the drivers seat is a advantage to help them get in and out of boat and minimizes folks stepping on the seats. I prefer the 24V. Good luck. Both are nice. Bring a small cooler with drinks on board and take if off when at beach. Other than water, You do not want open drinks in boat. Sooner or later They spill, stain and you need to clean... Let us know which model you get.

How much more is the Ve? Isn't it around 4K?
4K for a walkthrough, seat cushions in the corners that flip upside down so that you can step on them, and the cool transom. I'm not sure it is worth it. The windshield is longer on the Ve and makes getting into the boat a little less roomy from the side.

I have an 05 24V. I've never had water over the transom. My front seats are a pain to lift, glad that the V series has switched to the new seats.

I think that if you have the money, you should go for it, but if you are pinching pennies, go without the Ve, and use the difference for some big time tunes or accessories.
                        Be excellent to one another.

Thanks for your imput. I have ordered an 07 24Ve. The company took the guess work out of my decision. The V is not longer available.
