2000 tige 21v riders edition with merc mag 350 FI, Lake Anna, VA

JUst bought boat last week and first experiences for skiing, wake boarding and wake surfing. Has cruise control and 4 blade prop. Had this problem: attempting to pull wakeboarder with all 3 ballast bags full, taps fully down and 4 adults in rear seat. Wasn't able to get boat beyond 12 mph enroute to programmed 18.5 mph in cruise control (propass?). Is 350 simply not powerful enough? (Also have 1990 mastercraft maristar 240 with indmar 454 that has more torque.) What do you think, need more practice? Thanks.

Congrats on the new boat. I have a 1999 21v Riders Edition and have had my boat loaded down with a ton of ballast and loaded with people and had no issues getting on plane. It might be the prop that you are running. I'm sure some others will chime in with suggestions shortly...

That hull needs bow weight. The rule is 60/40, but I ran that ratio with 60% in the bow and 40% in the back. I bet you just had to much rear weight. What size bags are you running? FYI, anything over 1000lbs, makes the wake all washed out until about 23mph. I had a 2000 2100v limited.

Sounds like that boat has a black 1:1 drive. If so, a 4 blade is the wrong prop IMO.

The original prop on my boat was great for non weighted wakeboarding but was more like a ski prop and would NEVER have handled ballast. On my 3rd prop now that we surf. Sounds like your prop. Call Chpthril or Acme and make sure you have the right one. Makes all the difference. My boat has the blue drive.

yep, read that in your opening post. Do you know if the drive is the black 1:1 or the blue 1.48:1?

There's way more factors at play than just the number of blades. Chpthril is asking which Vdrive unit you have because that is a major factor in which prop to recommend. That's the info needed at this point.

                    Next info needed:

Motor (sounds like you have the 350 mag)
                    Elevation
                    Goals

We love to help around here but you gotta help us help you.

Where are you at on Lake Anna? I'm located on the cold side near the dam. I'm going to be out tomorrow after 2:00 if you'ld like to show off your new ride/compare to how my 2300V acts compared to your 21v. I generally don't use any ballast wake boarding.
