Excuse the ignorance, but what is this?!

I can't figure out for the life of me what this other port/hole is just above the plug. I've looked at similar models and some have it and others don't. I give up, please help.

Looks like factory ballast intake. That's exactly what mine looked like and was located.

If you have the factory hard tanks, that's why you can't fill while on plane. That inlet is out of the water.

It is a factory system so that explains it. What do you mean by "hard" tanks?

Plastic tanks that are covered in carpet vs fat sacs that are bladders that are made out of a material similar to a white water raft.

You should see a raw water hose similar to you cooking system running under the engine leading to a pvc plastic shutoff valve then a pvc manifold with 4 pumps on the starboard side next to Tranny and v drive, if it's the same as mine was.

That's what I was thinking, it does have the fat sacs.

Stingray, it has all of that except only 3 pumps as the front has just one big bag filling up the bow.

Another question, how does a guy go about replacing the fittings? On one of my bags the connector at the top of the bag has a leak but I'm not sure where to buy any of that stuff. I also have an inlet hose that has a pin hole leak in it that needs to be replaced. Home Depot? Or specialty shop online

              WY,

What fitting are you specifically referring to? The sac's welded in threaded port, the male thread x male quick connect, the female quick connect on the hose or is there a male thread x hose barb in the sac port with the hose on it?

Hmmm, I'm not sure. I'm hoping to get out to the lake today so I'll pay closer attention. Where would a guy buy those parts?

Count me as another happy customer of MLA (User: Chpthril, Mike's liquid audio). I got all my ballast stuff from him and he walked me through that ballast system Mine was not in very good shape though and I gutted it with his help.

If the factory ballast came with tanks, you are already one step ahead with sacs. I like the sacs better than tanks for reclaiming storage space.

This site has been super helpful, I do appreciate all the help to the FNG.

Took the boat out today for the first time since the trial. All went great until I opened it up and at about 4800 rpm I got an alarm. All gauges read fine temp. no more than 175, oil was fine as well. Ran fine for a bit then triad to duplicate it. Sure enough at about 4800 rpm the alarm came back and like before after I shut it down, it would stop and didn't return.

Tomorrow I'll check intake hoses, trans cooler and impeller and see if I can't find anything that way. Anything I'm missing??? Replaced the bunks today as well. Sure doing a lot of fixing for dropping over 30K on a frickin boat.

Check the oil level with the boat floating level in the water.
