    Acceleration issue 2001 2100V

This may not be an issue, I'm coming from a boat that was half the dry weight and the same engine.

So this morning I had 1000 pounds of passengers, at least 1000 of ballast and it takes the boat 2 -5 min to plane a get to a good wake-boarding speed of 20 -22 mph. With the TAPS on it won't go over 16mph. I thought it was my perfect pass, cause it never worked, so I pulled the power from the control unit. That helped a little, but I still feel like with the throttle all the way down I should be able to push more than 3000 rpm and pull up a rider in less than a min.

    BTW the prop looks good.

Could this by my throttle cable?

Reading around, maybe this is a limp mode thing? how do I know if it is in "limp mode"?

I had that boat and I will say that it's too much weight. I had that boat weight 50/50 or even 60/40 front and rear. I would run 2 250lb bags in the rear, and a 750 in the bow, then people weight would help balance it out.

That hull doesn't like anything over 1000lbs BTW. The wake won't clean up until about 23mph. You have to remember, that engine is only a 315hp and probably has the stock prop. Next time, just put more weight up front and it should plane out.

X2. Maybe the engine needs a tune up, new plugs, maybe new wires, if you plan to run that much weight in the future you will probably need to re-prop. I'd call acme and give them your specs and see what they recommend.

Thanks for the help, I'll look into new props and drain some sacks.

What bags are you running and where are they?

400 pounds under the seats in the front, and 2 400 bags in the ski lockers in the back

Did you have any people sitting in the bow also? If you can't plane, just move people up front. That hull loved bow weight also.

No we didn't, but we'll play with that next time we go out. Thanks for all the help. There is a big learning curve coming from a 81 Nautique with a 351 to this boat.

Do you still have the factory OJ 14”-18, 1 1/”8, LH, 4 blade prop?
Our 2000 21V without all that weight seemed sluggish with the factory prop.
The Acme #537, 13.5”-16, 1 1/8”, LH, 4 blade came out in 2003 and Tige started using it with the blue Walter V-drive 1.46:1 .
If you have the other V-drive you probably have a 3 blade prop so the #537 would not work.
The #537 has made a huge difference on our boat and only lost a couple of MPH at the top end.
There is another model (think lower gear ratio) Acme offers for those with more weight.

I was curious as to what you ended up figuring out as I purchased a 1999 2100v a few months ago and am trying to figure out why i cant really get up to speed with more then 2 people in the boat and no ballast. I recently changed the spark plugs, emptied all gas, have fresh fuel, put two cans of seafoam, new ACME 525 prop, removed the backflow prevention fitting at the tank sending unit. After all of this my performance has greatly improved but putting 4 grown men in the boat and raising the taps all the way up takes half the lake to plane out. It feels like when i have some weight in the boat the rpms dont really want to go up after about 5mph. They go up to about 2500 and slowly increase speed.

Have you checked the fuel pressure?
Our 350 Mag MPI has a couple of pipe plugs on the fuel rails where a small fuel pressure gauge can be added.
There should be a test port on the rail, too.
Our fuel pressure is 25 psi key on/engine off.
We just went out today, with 2 tubes and 8 adults we can get up to 3500 RPM right away.
