    20V Fuel Filter

I posted this in the general area but thought I would put it here as well. Thanks in advance..

Boat is running sluggish when taking off and the top end has dramatically decreased over the past week. Was thinking it might be the fuel filter or plugs... Does anyone know where the fuel filter on a 2008 20V is located and also.. do you have any other ideas why it would be running sluggish. Bogs down when taking off and top end is lower than normal.. When running it wide open it will rev up then decrase like it isnt getting enough fuel.. Any thoughts or advice where to find the fuel filter would be appreciated. Thanks

I have a 2007 20V (and oddly enough live in Moore OK) that is going through some of the same issues. Mine has the 5.7 Marine Power engine with 177 hours. I just changed my fuel filter last week becuase of the EXACT same symptoms! It did help smooth out my rmps for sure and took out that "bogged down" feeling, but im still facing the sluggish issue unfortunatly. Taking off from a stop seems sluggish, and i cant get the boat to go over 35 mph at 4200rpm. Now my engine doesnt bog down, it just doesnt feel as strong as it should. So i would say, yes, change your fuel filter, but i wish i could tell you that will fix all your problems. It may for you, but didnt for me. I still dont have answers to my issues, but i hope this helps yours.

These symptoms can be spark/electrical related too. Check distributor cap, coil, rotor, plugs, wires, etc...
