So I was setting up our stuff for the broadcast of mywake this weekend and I thought I would take a few pics, plus some pics I took the night of the reveal, shat show scale. The boat is big. And I have been in and out of a G23 and G25. This feels bigger than a G23 inside, not sure why, its like wider, or more open, not sure, I guess I would have to put them side by side.

So here is the bow of the ASR, I know its blurry, but you get the idea.

That is four normal sized people in there, its big.

The lights behind the blade on the side are really sick, I can't wait to see what they look like at night on the water when the boat is sacked.

As a dad of six, I love the trash can in my Z3, not sure I like this position as much, but its cool. There is extra storage next to it, and if that other side drains, it could be used as another cooler, just ice and cold ones in there.

Doum got inside the rear locker, he could have laid down and went to sleep, ginourmous.

I wish I had a great picture that shows how big the port side seating is with scale, it seems so much longer than my Z3, which is a longer boat.

Here is me with the boat. I am 6'2" and 400 lbs.

My Z3 is pulling the wakesurf portion of the event, so I pulled it up next to the ASR. The boats sit on the trailer about the same, in the sense that the bottoms of the hulls are at the same height off of the ground.

Now, the Z3 can take a bunch of weight in stride and make a great wake, but what is the potential with this beast?

I know the shape is there, because we tested the surf wake with the tub/plug.

Thanks ragboy, I've been waiting to see a pic of someone standing next to the boat on a trailer to give some perspective. That thing is ginormous! And as for rear facing seating well there we have it I guess, 4 in the bow lookin back. Great pics thanks again.

That boat is HUGE! Holy cow! Makes the Z3 seem like a little guy and it's not little at all.

It would be fun to see how big it is compared to my 24v. My 24v is much taller or deeper then the z3.

I just perused the internet forums on this boat. Cliffnotes:

MalibuCrew: Ugly boat, no surf gate and Tige sucks

PlanetNautique: Tige shamelessly ripped off the G23, and no NSS so Tige sucks

                MastercraftTeamTalk: Who's Tige again?

Wakeworld: What did you say about my mom you f*(#?!!!

Brand snobbery is a sickness in this sport, err recreational activity. More often than not once you enter into the high-end towboat world your bar raises so far you can no longer see below it and you become a privileged d!ck. You can actually feel the smug in the air as you pass by a Nautique, Malibu or whatever else on the lake. So dumb.

It seems like if you are truly a boating enthusiast you could appreciate them all, whatever the shape or size. I got super excited over the new prostar and I don't even ski! I would love a Boston Whaler even though I would have absolutely no use for it! I digress from the topic but it's the biggest thing i hate about the tow boat world. You guys are cool though

I found your last comment pretty interesting. but very honest. and I have to agree. I might not own a malibu, or mc, or G25, but I can appreciate what they are without running it into the ground. So the ASR might not be for you... then move along. No need to trample the BRAND and the boat which in turn represents the men and women who put countless hours into the design, engineering, manufacturing ext... not to mention the passion, and sleepless nights making it come to life. If we draw an analogy to an artist, would you publicly rip his work up one side and own the other?? or would you say, that is not my taste and go about life? Probably the later because most of us dont know what good art is anyhow? And even if we did, our tastes are not all same... just like they are not with boats. Ego is an ugly thing.

Ever since I can remember the kids that drove their daddy's malibu's and nautiques are the snobbiest groups of people I ever met on the lake. It blew my mind. It definitely steered me away from those brands. They act so entitled its ridiculous. I am also sure that there are Malibu and nautique owners out there that are stand up people. They were just hard to come by in Central Oklahoma. That being said I have never met a single tige owner on the lake that acted that way. Tige owners IMO seem to be the most friendly group of all, especially after reading stories like SandM's where dandy and his family took him out for the day. So I don't think you will find much brand bashing on this site because that does not seem to be a tige owner mentality. I will admit I think the malibu's and nautique are nice boats, but would never own one for reasons stated above. That is why I have owned 3 tige's and if I can get it sold will jump ship to my 4th next year.

                      Wisdom my friend..

That's exactly why I won't be seen in any of those boats because I don't have the ego to back it up. But those guys hit the water for all the wrong reasons and have lost sight of why they started in the first place.....what's that word I'm thinking of?........oh yeah, FUN!

The ASR looks killer by the way! I love all the storage on this boat. Seem's like I am always running short of room trying to haul all of my son's sand toys and bs around. I am looking forward to the day the sand castles are traded in for wakeboards.

                          Food for thought:

I test drove an Axis A24 with surf gate and a 2014 23LSV two weeks ago. The wakeboard wakes were stellar in both boats but the surf waves looked shallow and had no height. The boat drives sideways when the drag fins are deployed and they drive like tanks(fuel economy has to suffer) The axis seemed underpowered even with the 409 and the 23LSV took way to long to get on plane.

However I didn't surf them so I can't comment on the quality of the waves.

IMHO: I think surf gate is lame, who cares about switching sides! I don't mind draining and filling ballast for a whole 5 min! Especially to have a better wave on either side.

My point is I think the ASR will be a real contender. My wife and thought the wakesetter looks and feels like a bass boat,. ( do you get advertising kickbacks from Malibu for displaying WAKESETTER across the entire hull?) Your just paying for a name. The Axis is straight up cheap. (Especially for 80k) The vinyl and interior design of the Tige is IMO is higher quality and style. I could go on and on about why We chose a Tige, but you already know why.

I think the ASR is well thought out. Form follows function. I like the fact this boat isn't plastered with gimmicky tech all over the place with a bunch of crap I don't need that doesn't improve the quality of my boating experience. I think it's well worth the money to get performance over unnecessary creature comforts.

Ps: anyone want to buy my 13' Z1?

This!!!! :RO: This is one of the biggest reasons I like Tige and all the TO's on here.

Easy there, I get what your saying but your comment on the Axis sounds exactly like some of the stuff on Planet Nautique talking about Tige. I like the Axis style but some people don't and thats ok. Some people think pickles taste better than cucumbers. Most of the savings are in the interior and bells and whistles, but a 24' boat made by the same fiberglass workers that produce Malibu is going to cost a bit, just like the R20 and RZR. Once you load up the R20 with options to get it close to the RZR the prices are much closer.

I think boat shopping is is an objective process that requires criticisms(without being a d-bag of course,) if you a bought a Tige, it's because you, liked it more than rest based on your critiques of other brands.

I hear you man, I want to like the Axis too, they look really cool, but looks aren't everything.
I understand the target market for Axis and they are trying to be "economical" but for 80k plus TTL? Not very pocket book friendly. Im friends with the local owner of the Malibu dealer here and he thinks Malibu is shooting themselves in the foot with Axis. I am just echoing what I heard from him.

                                sorry, Back to the ASR:
