    Looking to purchase a 2005 22V

Looking to purchase my first boat. I have come across a 2005 22V with 110 hrs on the engine and very clean; stored inside with regular maintenance. I have been able to talk the guy down to $26K. Boat comes with custom cover and Extreme dual axle trailer. No tower.

Assuming it passes a sea trial and marine survey, would you consider this a good deal? As a soon-to-be first-time boat owner, I welcome your opinions and suggestions.

When I was looking last year around this time through January time frame, any 22V that was asking under 25k was pretty rough that I saw in person. They also did not have any maintenance documentation. It appeared to me that clean ones under 30k would sell, over 30k seemed to sit.... just my impression! It also seemed like inventory dried up really quickly on used boats once spring/summer hit.

Here is a good thread to look at and the owner posted the final sale price:

I paid a little more than that for my 24V last January. My vinyl was in poor shape, it was a low hour boat, and the survey said that it was "average" condition.

Your marine survey should also include an appraised value.

Hopefully some others that have bought and sold more boats than me will chime in and give you guidance. They will likely want to know the size of the motor, options, big stereo?, etc to give you an idea on value.

Good luck! I love my 24V and hope you find a 22V you love too!

25K Would be a steal in my area. That would be 33-35k here. If it's in good condition.

Diddo. 35k if if was still basic. No ballast, basic stereo, typ wear, etc.

You specify the 110 hours 'on the engine'. Do you know if the engine has been changed? I only ask because a 2005 with that few hours rings alarm bells to me. If it is all legit, I think that is a really good price.

I bought my 2005 24v two years ago with 35 hours on it. Some people buy these boats and never use them. The survey should pull actual hours. I had an avalanche with 700 hours and 300 of them were from running the boat at idle. I think the last owner floated and listened to music with the engine on.
