I think they are only saying that so we trade in our pre-2013 models to get the latest gadgets (Convex VX). There is no difference in the hull or transom from the 2007 to the 2013 RZ2. The brackets to mount the swim platform have changed and the location of the holes to mount them have changed but that is it. They might be worried about water seeping into the hull by a poorly executed fiberglass job to seal the old holes and drill new ones for the new brackets but that is the only physical concern I can imagine coming from Tige. I suspect they just want to sell more new boats than modify used boats.

Well I wish I had the money to be the guinea pig and test out the convex vx for everyone but alas I do not

What about trying something a little ghetto. Can you remove the fiberglass platform from the brackets? If so maybe you can then cut a test platform out of cheap plywood attached to your brackets. See how the wave looks with the smaller plywood platform. If you like it then use a higher quality wood that you can finish or even just rhino line it.

For the money of a new platform...... even Ragboy's aluminum one doesn't seem like a bad route. wasn't it like 1k-2k he said to make?

        Good luck!
