Hello all,
I was wondering if someone could help me out diagnosing an issue I'm having. We were out on the lake, did some wakeboarding for about an hour, then got caught in a major storm. We saw it coming, looking on the radar we knew it would only last about a 1/2 hr, so we hunkered down in a cove and just rode it out w/ a few other boats. After it passed we did some more boarding, Id say about 45 mins or so. During one of the last rides, we got a 1 beep alarm, at first we thought it was the Perfect pass, did not hear it again for a bit, then it happened again, we slowed down to idle speed, and it kept going off just about once per minute. We turned the boat off, and it would not start again. I popped the back deck just to make sure noting was out of the ordinary was going on. There was no water or anything in bildge, we tried to start it again after about 10 mins and it started, we got the alarm 2 more time, and decided to head back to the dock.
Where it started to pour again!
I called my boat guy, but he can't fit me in for 2 weeks. He said that it sounded like the IAC was bad, but could not be 100% sure w/out hooking it up to the computer. I did some searching on here and could not find anything on how to change the IAC, nor the part number.
I have an '03 22v riders edition w/ the Mercruiser 350 MAG MPI.
A few questions,
1. Does this sound like a reasonable assessment of how to fix this problem?
2. How hard is it to change this part out.
3. What is the part number I should be looking for?
I also read on another board that the IAC for this motor is the same that Ford used in their 2002 Winstar. Does anyone know if this is the case? B/c that part is $55 at the local auto parts store.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
