05 22V Velvet Drive Transmission dip stick missing parts?

    Good evening...
I decided to check the transmission fluid type and level in our boat tonight after talking to Harvey.
The dipstick came out easy... I thought that I had read that it needed to be unscrewed.
The dipstick and cap are there and I can see a threaded section.. but no other parts.
I'm attaching a picture of it so you can see what I do.
It looks like something either was.. or should have been screwed on the shaft.
Does anyone have a picture of theirs for me to review?
And... if something fell off I'm guessing or hoping it's rubber.. but probably has a brass nut with it that isn't magnetic.

Any thoughts or insight from those who are familiar with this would be greatly appreciated.

Oh yeah... it has the red ATF fluid in it.. and it seems a bit full.
The reason I was checking was because we've been having a problem with the fuel line vent check valve sticking.
It doesn't let air back into the tank and causes a stumble.
I think that is now taken care of as I found some spider webs in it.

    Thanks for your help!!

The dipstick just pulls out IIRC. There should be a rubber seal held in place with a nut and washer.

Thanks for the super fast reply.

Does that mean that I probably have some parts in the transmission?

I bought the boat used.. but it had about 100 hours on it.
I do remember checking the dipstick before.. but honestly don't remember any tension being on it.

I'm planning on sucking the fluid out to change it in the next day or two.
Hopefully, I will be able to see into the tranny... or maybe borrow a small engine camera to look around.

there is a chance that the nut vibrated loose and those pieces did stay in the trans.

I didn't find anything easily in the transmission.
Once I get the boat out of winter storage I plan to use my Top Sider to suck out all the fluid and see what I can find.
It's been suggested that I use a magnet to see if the nut is in the bottom.
I'm not sure if it's iron based that a magnet would pick up.
Of course I'm not excited to find out that the rubber piece is in there waiting to be chewed up and sent through the case.
I do have access to an electronic camera that I'll also use to view as much as possible.

After I get through the trouble shooting I'll post my findings.

Arghhh.. this is not the fun kind of boat work I enjoy.
