Good evening...
I decided to check the transmission fluid type and level in our boat tonight after talking to Harvey.
The dipstick came out easy... I thought that I had read that it needed to be unscrewed.
The dipstick and cap are there and I can see a threaded section.. but no other parts.
I'm attaching a picture of it so you can see what I do.
It looks like something either was.. or should have been screwed on the shaft.
Does anyone have a picture of theirs for me to review?
And... if something fell off I'm guessing or hoping it's rubber.. but probably has a brass nut with it that isn't magnetic.
Any thoughts or insight from those who are familiar with this would be greatly appreciated.
Oh yeah... it has the red ATF fluid in it.. and it seems a bit full.
The reason I was checking was because we've been having a problem with the fuel line vent check valve sticking.
It doesn't let air back into the tank and causes a stumble.
I think that is now taken care of as I found some spider webs in it.
Thanks for your help!!
