    Used 2008 Tige Z1

Just bought used 2008 Z1. Any advice when it comes to driving it. Never had a V-drive before?

In reverse only turns one way. Won't steer when in neutral. Brass prop bends easily so try not to let it touch anything

I love my 2008 - congrats - only advice is - slow around the dock. I can't give advice about burying the bow. I soak everyone in the bow about one per month.

Thanks. Can you surf on it without ballasts? If so what taps setting.

You won't get a quality surf wave without ballast. I run 1200 in the port rear and about 400-450 in the bow for a regular eave and the same in the bow and around 750 in the rear starboard locker for a goofy wave. I always have the bow full. The Z1 likes weight up front or it will porpoise above 30 mph

Is it possible to wakesurf without fat sacs for the time being or are they a must have before first use?

Anything to add weight works. Just bring along a lot of friends, or a few of your largest friends. Have them get cozy with each other and crowd into the back corner of the seats.

Other redneck ballast engineering has included bags of rocks or sand, steel or lead bars or plates, and even plastic tubs filled with water or anything else. But with people weight, at least it is easier to move the weight around.

I did when we demo'd one back in 08 just to see. I highly recommend some ballast. $250 will get you a 750# sac and a pump and it will go a long way in enjoying a good surf wake.

Spend that money on the ballast and let the good times roll. Or bring a boatload of peeps for ballast. I fill my ballast full even with 8-9 peeps in the boat.
its only scary the first time

Thanks. I will post pics later. Does this boat have a fiberglass floor or a wood floor. Couldn't tell as it is carpeted throughout.
