    Blower hose missing?

I have noticed on a few of the 24V bilge pictures that people have bilge hose on both of the vents on the transom. One connected to the blower and one dangling down. The pic I saw it in is the ad for this 2005 24V

I also thought I may have noticed it on another couple pics but its tough to say.

I have only one on mine thats connected to the blower and the other is open.

Should I have a blower hose on that vent? Are they being added to keep water that gets in there to go to the bilge?

    Any help is appreciated,
    Steve

I remember my 07 20v only being connected to one side. I have no idea why there was 2 vents w just a hose ran on 1 side. I haven't even checked on my new boat yet.

My guess is that the only hose that is needed is the one that the blower is attached to. The other vent should simply be for fresh air intake, so having a hose or not really should not make a difference. The blower is used to vent fumes/vapor out of the engine compartment to avoid combustion at ignition...in order to offset the vacuum created by the blower, fresh air needs to be brought in.

Stingreye, after my previous post, I did think of one reason that the 2nd hose could be benificial. In the event the "combustive" air is heavier than clean air, bringing the fresh air in at the bottom would "push" it around to the blower output. Not sure about the science behind this, it was just a thought.
