    Z3 shaft seal question

Anyone whether the Z3 has the dripless shaft seal, or whether it's the "old fashion" kind with the packing material? I'm away from the boat this week. Thanks in advance

    For 2012 PSS Shaft Seal
For 2013 I believe they moved to a new manufacture(can't remember name) and it is now plumbed in to water supply.

Thanks Trent, so both years are the dripless style? I'm not sure what you mean when you say the 2013 is now plumbed into water line. I thought all dripless seals were plumbed into the raw water line. Thanks!

        Yep both are.
When my seal was replaced they added a new line that went from the raw water pump indirectly to the new seal. For some reason the old seal didn't need it.

Here's my writeup of switching from the "dry" to "wet" versions, and the history behind it:

My 2004 still has the pss original seal with over 1300 hrs and has never leaked.

Just to be clear, mine never leaked either - but it did make horrible sounds because it was running dry (just as PSS said it would) and inspection revealed running dry was scarring the face of the carbon and stainless rings.

I find it quite notable that Tige has apparently switched to the wet version of the seal, at least for the Z3.
