New boat missing the walk through window

    Hi,

I'm looking to buy a 2008 Z1. The deal breaker is it's missing the walk through window and the dealer says he can't get a response from Tige about getting a replacement. Do you guys have any idea where I can get one?

    Thanks,
    James

I got mine from a local glass shop. I think it was $70.
If its not fun, Why do it?

Is it just the broken glass or the actual swing open window frame? If its the whole thing, then call Tige directly and inquire about its availability. They will probably not quote a price and they will not for sure sell it direct, but im certain they can answer about its availability.

Good point chpthril, my answer was assuming the frame was still there...

No Frame, the boat was a rental and its a little beat up but i can get it out the door for 26 grand with a brand new V/M trailer. The bad is no ballast, no stereo, and no perfect pass. You guys thinks a good deal or should I find another. ohh yeah 630 hours.

A small plastic piece broke on mine so I took it off. Have never missed it. Still have it to put back on if I want to, but don't plan on is as it was never closed anyway.

No factory ballast is a plus IMO, stereo is easy to do your own and boat woudnt have come with perfect pass any way as Tige and Marine Power had their own cruise called Speed Set. If the Speed-Set touch pad is still available from Tige, its a plug and play install.

                chpthril,

Thanks for the input. I pulled the high end audio equipment out of my Supra last night. I'm going to sell it with some older stuff the Supra came with so I'm good there. I'll contact Tige tomorrow and see how much the Speed Set is.

your story on buying a rental boat refreshed a memory i had a number of years ago up on lake shasta. obviously your rental company took better care of their boats than the one i visited

i planned to rent a Malibu one summer while we were houseboating because I always liked comp boats, was thinking of buying one, and wanted to try before buying something in case I didn't like them. It was a 2 year old Malibu and was telling the rental place that i was looking to buy that model hence why i was renting. once i got out to the dock and the boat out in the water i realized that it was destroyed! Had vibration from the prop, seats were hammered, must of had 1500 hrs on it, chip, nicks, and scratches on every inch of the gel top to bottom!

When I came back at the end of the day, the guys says to me that they sell them after 2 years and buy new ones and he would give me a great deal on it if I wanted to buy it. Mind you, I had been looking at new ones that were $26 otd (1996). he said would "let me have" this 2 year old one for one for "only" $18K! I kinda chuckled inside and politely said no thanks . (I thought to myself I probably wouldn't have been interested at it for $10K either!)

Never did buy a Malibu- got the dealer down to $24 otd on a brand new 1 year old sun setter (1996 model I believe) but wifey thought that was too much for a boat. I remember seeing them going for more than that used a few years later .finally bought my first ski boat a few years ago...shouldn't have waited so long!
