I'm looking at 2000 21v limited this weekend

I am new to Tige boats but I have heard great things about them (except for tower issues). I am test driving a 2000 2100v limited this weekend. It has 450hrs and inter/exterior is in fantastic shape. They are asking $21,000 w/trailer. Thoughts on price and what to look for?

just a quick nada check for the zip code says its low end is around 17 high like 19400... guess it all depends if he will take a little less or you feel its worth the full asking price? and always go for the middle or the road like 18ish

Thanks! I am going to do exactly that. I hope they will take it because I am anxious to get it in the water.

yep original tower.... and yes known to have issues... if you plan on keeping it for a while... will probably want to change that out. I am sure you will get many opinions on the matter... but for a 2000 the boat looks to be in great shape.. good luck!

Check underneath the top pads of the tower. That's where most of them have cracked on that particular type of tower. There have been members on here that have welded a support piece in the area I mentioned, but I am not sure about the longevity. Most people just replace the tower. Good luck!

Thats exactlay where mine was splitting.. right underneath the top pads... Had a buddy of mine hook it up to prevent it from breaking.. it basically just falls out of the welds.. the tower can snap if you have some buddy wakeboarding and that happens.. very dangerous.. but if you do some preventive maintenance on it she will hold up just fine..

Also, mine is a 2001 2100v Limited that I bought in 2008 with a tandem axel trailer for 22,000 out the door... Had about 240 hours on her.. Haven't had to do much withthe exception of a o-ring on the shift mechanisim down in the tranny... if you ever notice your boat slipping gears.. I would bet that gasket went bad... I also had to replace two injectors and an alternator.. the injectors rusted out on top and had to replace those... the alternator was not aligned properly on the motor from the factory.. so you might go through some belts if you have the same motor as me.. the problem cleared up when I put a new one on there though.. Love my boat though.. and if I sold it I would ask about 19,000 high end.. and it is in immaculate shape.. re upholstered and all... the thing is.. you never get that money back.. unless you find someone who can appreciate it... so if you love the boat and you have it thoroughly scoped out then I'd say talk him down off the ledge and give his price a reality check... It is nice looking for sure man.. not a fan of the trailer.. but that boat is clean.. let us know what you decide to do...

that doesn't look like a 2000 tower- looks like a 2001. it's got the additional reinforcement bar on the rear bars. I have a 2001 with that tower on it. Honestly, I have heard a lot of people whine about the towers and I assume the issue is legit, but mine has been great- no issues- no cracks - very solid. I've owned the boat since new and it has about 700 hours on it. I fold the tower every time i use it as it sits in my garage. Outside of it looking dated, it pulls riders just fine and I wouldn't be in a huge hurry to replace it if it's not broken.

My 1999 2100V Limited came with a tandem axel trailer as well. What is the load rating for that single axle trailer? Curious......

NADA is a good guide. But I feel the most true way to tell is to watch and see what other boats are going for that are like year and hours and condition. Around here if that had a tandom axle trailer I would say $18k-19k

I read a lot about those towers, and from what I can tell if you do a little welding they are no issue at all. As long as the gel coat is not cracked at the mounts. Good luck, keep us posted!

As for the tower, mine had the exact tower and I never had a problem until I hit the edge of the house and broke it! Insurance replace it so I came out good on that one. Just be sure that you tighten the bolts every time out. Great boats, handle rough water exceptionally well, built like a tank. They surf well with a minimum of ballast and the wakeboard wake is good. Holds a lot of people with a lot of freeboard so it is a safe boat for the young kids. Seats are higher than most boats so they are more comfortable. I would be concerned about the single axle trailer as these are heavy boats. Make sure it has the highest load rated tire and they are not too old before you start towing any distance. 450 hours is not much so if it has been maintained, you should be good to go. Bet they will come down some! Good luck. I love my 21V!
