    Throttle very stiff

I had a boat mechanic replace my steering cable. Immediately after my throttle is stiff. Is there any chance that the steering cable replacement could have caused my stiff throttle?

Any advise on replacing the throttle cable by myself?

Sounds like the shifter or throttle cable is kinked. Could be due to how the steering was routed. Disconnect them from the throttle lever one at a time and work the lever. With the bound cable removed the level will be loose and smooth again. May need to pull the floor back up to see. My money is on the shift cable.

I've pulled up the floor board and can't see any kinks. Will I need to pull up the gas tank as well?

How do I disconnect the cables from the lever?

You will need to pull the level from the combing pad. The cables are probably attached to the level via cotter pins.

I think I've got it fixed. I had to pull really hard on the throttle cable right by the drivers foot where the cable goes under the floor. I think it must've been pinched from when the mechanic put the fuel tank back in.
