    Red trans oil light

Hey wanted to make sure this was ok the red trans oil light on my dash is on at idle. When you go above 1200 rpm's it goes out. 2003 22v 350 mag mpi

perfectly normal - it indicates low oil pressure, so once you get the RPMs up, pressure goes up and light goes out

if it stays on when your RPMs are higher, then look into a problem

The light indicates low oil pressure flow in the V-drive, not the trans.
So, if the light stays on look for a problem in the V-drive.
The dash label is not correct.
If the light stays on and everything else seems normal the problem may just be a bad sensor like ours had - pressure sensor, 2 psi, NC, Hobbs Corp. - 76061 (NAPA Balkamp - 7011605).
I think the pressure flow in the V-drive is just a flow of oil over the gears and thru the cooling chamber in the top of the case.
The raw water pump is pulling cool lake water thru the V-drive cooling chamber.

Isn’t yours on at low RPMS?
Mine has done this from day one and Tige MD told me it should be that way.

Yes, ours is ON at low RPM indicating there is low pressure or pressure below 2 psi in the V-drive.
When the pressure gets higher (ours is at 1400 RPM) the light goes out.

Thanks everyone for the answers. The Light does go out as soon as the RPM's go up above 1200. The dealer told me this was normal also. Just wnated a second opp. Thanks again!
