    Star Gazer Cruise Control Install?

I am getting closer to pulling the trigger on purchasing a Star Gazer Wakeboarder Pro GPS Cruise Control system for my 2006 22VE. I have talked to two different shops and got different anwsers to my question. One dealer said it would take several hours with cutting into the wiring harness and flashing the ECM. Another said I could install it myself in less then in hour, plug and play with no ECM flash. Looking for advise from anyone who has installed this system

I don't remember what motor is in that boat.
I put this in myself on my Mercruiser and it took me 1.5 hours tops.
If I remember correctly there was no splicing to speak of. Just the tack wire and a power supply which is already accessable on the back of existing gauges.

I have the PCM Excalibur 330 in mine. I have read through the Perfect Pass Star Gazer User Manuals on their site and didnt read anyrhing about flashing the ECM.

            Update:

Just got off the phone with Perfect Pass and since my boat is a "odd ball" with a PCM engine in it I should be straight plug and play. They said if I had the Marine Power engine they did not have a direct install and it would quite an extensive install.

I am going to order the kit and try the install myself, I will update this tread as I progress.

Got the kit on wednesday afternoon and installed in on thursday afternoon and it took less then an hour. Straight plug and play just like Perfect Pass said.

Side note...The cruise control was AWESOME when we took the boat on Friday afternoon. WHAT A DIFFERENCE FOR DRIVER AND RIDER!!

Great to hear the install went well! I actually was just on the phone with the Perfect Pass folks a couple days ago looking into the same system as you now have. I was wondering how well it actually works, but apparently its great! Perfect timing for me to see a thread like this to convince me to drop the 1,200

Took me awhile to convince myself too but after the easy install and with two trips behind me with the new CC I only wish I had spent the money sooner. I read on this forum several times about how it is a night and day difference with the cruise control and I could not agree more now. HUGE fan of Perfect Pass!!

Very easy install on merc 315mag. Less than 2 hours. Only problem I had was a bad ground so a ran a wire negative battery post cause pp was flashing onand off.

I have pp wakeboard pro and it doesn't engage until 20mph (mp engine). Does the stargazer engage below 20mph? I heard it was an early issue for 06's...thanks!

mine does too. I was just messing around with the surf wake last time out and had the cruise set at 11 mph and it engaged around 15 mph if I remember right.
