1999 2100V Limited packing for drive shaft

Hi,

I have a 1999 2100 V-Limited 315 HP that I purchased new and I need new packing for the drive shaft packing nut.
I was getting a trickle coming into the bilge and tightened up the packing nut 1/3 turn. That reduced it to about one drop per second.
After trying the boat for about 20 minutes today, the drip increased to a trickle. The packing nut is as tight as I can make it.
Can you tell me what size I need to purchase and vendors/instructions?

Any help and guidance you can give me would be greatly appreciated as I am located in Northern VT (Canadian border).

We no longer stock the flax rope used for that packing seal application used during that model year which you should be able to locate at any Marina that sales and deals with boat repairs. If you have the nylon shaft seal application, the rope size you need is 1/4" and if you have the brass stuffing box the rope size is 3/16".
