    2007 22 VE Overheating

New to forum and first year with boat. I have an overheating issue when running over 2800 RPM. I have checked the impeller (good shape new in Oct 11) and had the thermostat replaced this weekend but still experiencing the overheating. Any suggestions on what to check on next. I am going to remove raw water hose and flush this weekend to check for any blockage but not sure beyond that.

    Thanks

    Welcome and Congrats!

There is a chance the old impeller was eaten up and they simply replaced it and didn't bother with getting all the vains. Hope you find some and resolve your issue.

Post some pics of your boat. You are going to love it.

Boat has run well all summer, so it leads me to believe something beyond the old impeller vains. I am hopeful that I may have gotten into some crude in launch area and can flush hoses. Boat has been a blast for family and freinds both.

Other then the temp reading on the gauge, how have you determined that its overheating? Pull the hose off the inlet side of the transmission cooler and back flush the cooler and see what comes out.

I am trusting the gauge and the piercing alarm that is going off so other than that I have not used any other means to determine overheating. I will do the backflush you suggest and see what comes out. Do you have any other suggestions on determining if it is really overheating vs the gauge and alarm.

            Strainer

I had this problem back when my 07 22ve was about a year old. I don't remember the specifics but it was a design issue with the water intake getting clogged. My dealer installed a strainer, which I could empty when it filled with trash and I have never had the issue occur since.
