    Bilge

I am a brand new boat owner and appreciate any help on this site. We have a 2001 21v. The bilge pump comes on and stays on even though there is no water to drain. It will remain on even if all power is shut off. Twice we have had to tap the pump to get it to close. Is there an easy fix for this?

The pump should snap out of the base. Check for debris that is keeping the float from going back down. This would cause it to continue running. Need pics of all new boats from all new TO's. Welcome to the site and have fun with your new toy. You picked a great model.

Welcome to the site and x2 on the pics.

Also second that there might be debris in there or the float could be rusted in the wrong position.

the bildge is wired to where when power is on you can use the switch but no matter what it will always kick on even if all power is turned off but still connected to power of course. The only way it would be turned on is by the float switch.

Do you have a bildge with the switch built in (one piece) or do you have a seperate float to where if you lift up on it it will turn on? I recommend replacing it with the two piece. Bildge + External pump. They last longer and easier to diagnose if something goes wrong. As mentioned your problem now is either rust holding float up or debris.
