I have a 04 22v riders edition. I filled up in town launched boat at ramp and on the way to lake house motor started poppin. The closer to house I got the worse it got until it quit. Now boat won't start. Took a fuel sample at the fuel rail doesn't look like water I'm thinking maybe fuel pump.it has g-force pump with internal filter. Any suggestion I have 5.7 vortec

Water won't separate from gas anymore so gas with water in it will smell like alcohol. But popping and snapping are usually associated with timing or stuck intake valve. Any other noises? When did it run good last? Any recent work done? What octane fuel did you use?Fixing everyone elses boat just so I can use mine... -
Found out gas station has 20% ethanol. Drained tank ,replaced spark plugs , replaced fuel filter now it runs like new. Gas station has a sign posting up to 10% ethanol so beware of buying gas in town before u get to lake.Comment
