    1999 Tige no fire

We were going across the lake and the boat just shut off. Will crank but won't fire. Pulled the spark plug wire off and did the screwdriver trick and didn't get any spark.

Swapped the distributer cap and master coil today and no joy. Any ideas??

Do you have a kill switch? If so, check it. If not, make sure you have no loose connections on the battery. I that is good, check the 90 amp fuse at the starter/cable connection. If not that, I am out of ideas.

No kill switch. It turns over. I had the module on top of the distributor checked and it is good. I have power goin to the module but no spark at the plugs.

        Carb or fuel injection.
(Guessing carb with a GM HEI ignition on top of the distributor cap.)
Did it cut clean or stumble/stutter?
        Is it getting fuel? (stumble)
Cut clean in my experience has been electrical.
If it stumbled is the filter full of water?
There is a check ball valve in the fuel tank pickup that can stick shut stopping fuel flow.

FOUND IT!!!!! It was not getting spark. Fuel was good. Looked up the Mercruiser Manual and started trouble shooting. Found the pickup in the distribuitor to be TOAST. Thanks for all of the help. BTW That manual is AWESOME if you can figure out how to read it.
