    Going 24v to R20?

Well, I bought my '05 24v when we had a house on a large lake that saw a lot of rough water riding, and the 24v handled like no other ski boat we had been in. Well we have since sold that house and now trailer every where we go and don't really "need" that large a boat any longer. Plus there are some local lakes that are 20' and under only. I would be looking at the 343hp, surf ballast, tower and bimini as far as options. So, couple questions

    1. Anyone have any real world feeback as to how the wakes differ when empty? Why empty? I have a 6 and 3 year old who are starting to ride and want to minimize the "intimidation" factor of the huge steep wakes. Mainly want to focus on a nice user friendly wake for them to learn on

    2. How is the storage in the R20? Kind of strange, I had a boat with a huge amount of storage when it sat at a lake house and never needed it, now that we are trailering where storage will be more necessary, we are looking at smaller boats

    3. Surf wake, obviously the 24v is pretty sick and will be hard to match in a 20, but have you guys had good luck with a quality surf wake out of the 20?

    4. I know I should probably be looking RZR as well, but in looking it seems like the additional $20k for the RZR really only gets the Tige Touch and a couple trim items which I can live without, or am I missing something major (can't really find a good side by side comparison of the two option wise)

    5. Anything else I am missing?

I am not in a position where I have to buy, just looking at ideas and options out there. And maybe I am just plain nuts and will keep put. Problem I have too is the closest Tige dealer is 3.5 hours each way away from me and not exactly local to go water test one, trying to do any reseach I can in advance.

Storage is good, not cavernous but fits all our boards bumpers vests and all that pretty well. Surfs great, takes only 1100 lbs to make a big ol wake surf ballat and a 500 under the seat. The wake knocks down nicely, when full though it gets pretty large and rivals the size of my buddy's x-25 when full of stock, may even be bigger. Rzr gets an alpha z as well

Probably a stupid question, but sadly Tige's website is not that great, what are the true differences between the R20 and RZR?

I know different tower on the RZR
        RZR has Tige touch
RZR has different interior layout with the vinyl and insets
Anything else? I know hull is the same.

I think that the RZR has TAPS standard, while the R20 comes with a fixed wake plate standard (but can get TAPS as an option). In my opinion, you really need the TAPS to maximize the versatility of the boat.

RZR generally include the flex paint scheme, and the Alpha Z tower as standard. Get pricing for an RZR with basic graphics package, and tubular tower, then compare the two. IMO that's the way to go.

RZR has a llot of features the R20 does not offer including price. To start Alpha Z tower, as noted grab handles in cockpit with insets for cup holders, Tige Touch, Some tower Lighting. Wet Sounds on tower, Taps and Taps plate,Stereo Depth Gauge Dresier Interior, Better gelcoat schemes, all around more bling.
Ski Pylon and I think more balast comes standard. Big difference in base MSRP.
              Hull constuction is the same

If you are going to keep the boat for more than a couple of years you probably would be happier with the RZR especially if you get a lot of use out ofthe boat. If you are a weekend warrior like me where in a year you put on 50-75 hours the R20 may fit the bill especially from a dollars stand point :02
