Where to get a new Taps Relay

I was having problems with my taps not working. It would go down and not up. After jumping the wires in a couple different spots I have narrowed it down to the relay. Anyone know where I can get another one? It is for a 21v Riders Edition. It is the Bennet Hydraulic system. The relay has Black, Red, and Black/White on one side and Green, Blue, Red/white, White, and Yellow on the other side. The serial numbers are worn off of it, but start with 862.

The bennet website only has the ones for the newer systems with dual tabs. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Contact Bennet Marine and they should be able to help you. They had to build me an accuator last year since they didnt stock my year anymore. Very fast and helpful on getting the part to me.

i got mad after replacing the relay and it worked for a week and then just went to electric actuators.... no more hydraulics!!

So far no help from bennet or Tige. Bennet says contact Tige. My nearest Tige Dealer doesn't seem to have any ideas for me. I am still awaiting a call back from another. Is it possible to just rig up a standard 5 pin trim/tilt relay?

Do you have the relay out of the boat? It might just be a standard Bosch relay that you can pick up at any auto parts store.

So the standard Bosch type relay could probably be modified to work, but I just got off the phone with Bennet and he says the one from tige has sound supressors or something in it that keeps the voltage from interfering with the stereo and other electronics. I did notice a click in my stereo when it quit working. I sure would like to find an OEM replacement if possible. I left a message with Lee at the main Tige headquarters in Abilene and also sent an email. Hopefully they will get back to me.

Worst case, electrical and RF interference is easy to address. Lots and lots of aftermarket options available. I bet ChpThril is a great resource in that department, for example. Bottom line is a standard relay will do the electrical job, and you can duplicate (perhaps improve upon) the EFI/RFI suppression of the OEM.

Alas! Tige comes through! Lee over at the main headquarters got back to me and is going give the correct part number to my nearest dealer who is then going to drop ship the new one direct to me. That is pretty awesome customer service right there!

Also Mountain Marine in Kalispell contacted Lee via email while I was on the phone to him. So Kudos to them as well for helping someone who has never even spent any money with them. I was worried this was going to turn into a big headache. Thanks Mountain Marine!

If I could afford it I certainly wouldn't hesitate buying a new Tige. Helping a 3rd owner on an 11 year old boat is certainly above and beyond. Thanks again Tige!

I just received my new relay. I am stoked to have it. If anyone wanted to actually build their own replacement you would need two of these.

Once I received the new one the part number is listed on the two relays. Tyco 92P7D22-12. These are only $10 a piece.

Just a heads up if you are like me and do not have a dealer nearby. I would have never known which relay would have worked.

Mine cracks in the stereo. Would this fix it?

I replaced the TAPS up relay in our old 21v RE years ago with a standard Bosch 12V SPST relay. I siliconed the contacts after I soldered the wires on and there's no noticeable noise in the stereo or otherwise. It's been running like that for 3+ years without any issues.

I ordered about 15 capacitors because they were only a buck a piece. Anyway they should be here any day now. If you want a couple for your taps I'll just give them to you. I'm hoping the new relay will fix my click, but if not I'll have the capacitors to fix it if not.

Yeah that would have probably worked, but I'm not that smart.Lol
