    Wakeboarding Wake 22Ve

There have been lots of threads and posts about the surf wake or boarding wakes of the RZ series but I couldn't find much on wakeboarding. To me the stock wake is pretty good, we are not pros. I am figuring out my ballast and was curious what the 400# sacs do for the wake for wakeboarding? Does it improve it much? Is it worth it? Does it make it taller, more rampy, etc..? Is there a better option?

Weight in the back makes the wake taller.Weight in the front makes the wake more rampy. The taps plate on 8 makes the wake more vertical and 1 more mellow and rampy. It's all a preference.
I do all my own stunt work. hey ya'll watch dis.

You'll need some weight up front too to fully take advantage of those 400#'s in the rear. The 22Ve puts out about the same wake as the RZ2, maybe even a little cleaner IMO up to the max that you can put in the front of the 22Ve. The RZ2 will hold more weight up front though.

Since we have the same boat what r u thinking in terms of your ballast system. I plan on taking my boat to Mike in the next month or so and getting one installed and have been pondering this also. Thinking of starting on the port side at first (since that is where all of us surf) and then the starboard side the following year. This will give me some time to gain some experience with the system before going all out. Not exacting sure of which pumps to use but Mike has already provided a lot of good feedback.

I am going to be installing a ballast soon, getting parts from Mike. I have decided on the Rule 405fC pumps, aerator style. I am going to put pumps in for both sides. I am debating the front.

I already have a custom sac that I got from Mike for surfing. I was just looking to see if it would be worth getting the 400# sacs for wakeboarding.

What pumps are you leaning towards?

skippa - another thing that I do is leave the custom sac hooked up and then put a 400# in the opposite locker and then hit the fill switches and let them run until the 400# is full and then shut both off and I place the other 400# sac in the bow and fill it. Sometimes you need to adjust the custom sac up or down in weight but it's usually pretty close.

it works! I will be ordering a 2nd custom sac this spring and then I can run both 400#'s up front.

That is the same style pumps I am leaning towards also. This is also what Mike recommended. I am going to go with two bags up front instead of the horse shoe style based on what ragboy suggested. I have two 400 # fly high sacs that I got with the boat and have been manually filling for surfing with good results so looking forward to the added weight with the custom sac.

What size prop are your currently running with that custom sac?

I am running the 1235, I got it from Mike. I am also at a higher elevation than you. It works good. I know that Timmy has the custom sac and runs the stock prop, I think 537. It works.

Will you use the 400# sacs in the front or are there different ones you plan to use?

The previous owner put a 1125 prop on it and you can lay down the throttle from a dead stop and the boat takes off real slow. I have the original 537 and was thinking of putting it back on. Now sure what the difference is between them.

I don't think I will use the sacs I already have unless Mike thinks they are useable up front....who knows...could always have a couple of extras to manually fill for some additional weight

The 1125 is 13.5 D x 16 P, same as the 537. The only diff the the 1125 has a .150 cup compared to the 537's .105. The 537 is good prop for boats not running a ton of ballast, so i dont know why the differcne in cup would make the 1125 act like a dog. Swap the 537 just for chits and giggle and see.

Bow weight is really personal preference in the 22ve.

I remember the previous owner telling me that his wife was complaining that the boat took off to fast and he called acme and they sent him the 1125 to help out with that...I am going to put the 537 on and see if there is a difference.

As was recommended I emailed ACME prior to ordering my prop. They suggested two props that had never been talked about on here, 1579 and 1631. That just confused me even more.
